Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Conceptualize & Design: Generate original fashion concepts inspired by research, trends, cultural
- Visual Communication: Effectively communicate design ideas through professional technical drawings (flats/specs), illustrations, mood boards, and digital presentations.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate mastery of core construction techniques (draping, flat patternmaking, sewing) for various garments.
- Textile Application: Select, source, and manipulate appropriate fabrics and materials based on design, function, and sustainability considerations.
- Pattern Development & Grading: Create accurate patterns, manipulate basic blocks, and understand size grading fundamentals.
- Digital Fluency: Utilize industry-standard software (CAD, Graphic tablets) for design, pattern making, and presentation.
- Industry Awareness: Understand the global fashion system, supply chain, key roles, business fundamentals, and professional ethics.
- Portfolio Development: Create a professional, cohesive portfolio showcasing technical skills and creative vision.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Analyze design challenges, research solutions, and make informed technical and aesthetic decisions.
- Sustainable & Ethical Practice: Integrate principles of sustainability, ethical sourcing, and responsible design thinking.
ASSIGNMENT CRITERIA
All modules and assessable projects will be graded according to the following system. With respect to those units that are designated 'Approved for Pass/Fail' the grade will be either P or F:
