In this course, we will examine fashion show production through study of traditional and emerging fashion presentation strategies. Topics to be explored include: show creative direction and format options, sourcing of venue, talent and production teams, as well as managing show budgets. We will consider the role of the fashion show within brand public relations and the range of pre- and post-show activities that fashion brands undertake. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have generated projects that include the key elements of fashion show production and public relations materials.

Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
1. Identify & Apply Materials & Techniques: Demonstrate knowledge of key materials (leather, textiles, metals, synthetics, sustainable alternatives) and appropriate construction techniques specific to diverse accessory categories (bags, footwear, jewelry, belts, small leather goods, etc.).
2. Develop Concept-Driven Designs: Generate original accessory concepts through research, sketching, and mood boards, translating fashion trends, cultural influences, and thematic narratives into cohesive accessory collections.
3. Execute Technical Proficiency: Create accurate technical flats, specifications, and prototypes that effectively communicate design intent, construction methods, and functional details, considering scale, proportion, and ergonomics.
4. Integrate Design & Market Context: Analyze the functional, aesthetic, and symbolic role of accessories within a complete fashion look and understand their positioning within specific market segments and brand identities.
5. Create Presentation-Quality Work: Develop professional presentation materials (including physical prototypes, digital renderings, and portfolio layouts) that effectively showcase accessory designs, concepts, and technical understanding.
6. Apply Professional Practices: Understand fundamental accessory design development processes, cost considerations, sourcing basics, and industry terminology relevant to accessory production and marketing.
7. Evaluate Sustainability & Ethics: Critically assess material choices and production processes in accessory design through the lens of environmental impact and ethical sourcing.
